A little over a year ago I walked away from both drinking and smoking, after more than 15 years of practicing both habits to the best of my ability. I smoked cigarettes to the tune of at least a pack a day, and drank beer to the tune of at least a twelve pack a day for almost all of that time. I didn’t keep a running tally, of course, but those had to be the averages. There wasn’t a thing that I thought I enjoyed that didn’t involve both drinking and smoking.
